Welcome to my website! The first half of the year is done and we’re into mostly hot, humid weather in Minnesota. The earlier months of the year brought out-of-town trips to Baltimore Tradfest (playing with Trian), a couple of concerts on the west coast with my old comrade, James Kelly, and a very enjoyable Sean-nós Northwest in Portland, Oregon. Nearer to base I had nice gigs with Laura MacKenzie and Ross Sutter and with Norah Rendell and Danny Diamond. At the end of June I headed to Ireland for some visiting and the Willie Clancy Week, where I launched Maighread and Tríona’s wonderful new CD, performed a couple of songs on Raidió na Gaeltachta with them and also did some recording with Victoria Adiiye for our album of guitar duets and songs — that is almost complete now! Never a dull moment, I suppose… And of course my teaching at the Center for Irish Music, always a treasure for me. Coming up later in the year the O’Flaherty Irish Music Retreat and a concert with James Kelly in St. Louis.
