Welcome to my website! It has turned out to be a busy and interesting year for me! Following the 50-year anniversary of the release of the Skara Brae album, we were awarded the first TG4 Gradam Ceoil for a group and took part in a wonderful televised concert in April in Dublin — it was a very special time! Now we’ve heard that the album has been released in a vinyl commemorative package with notes by my old friends, Jim McCloskey (who played with Skara Brae) and Gabriel Rosenstock (who worked with me as an editor in Folens Publishing in Dublin in the ’70s). I am also delighted to report that Skara Brae will be doing a concert at the Scoil Gheimhridh in Gweedore on the 29th of December — in addition, I’ll be playing in a guitar concert and teaching some workshops there — always lovely to be in Donegal over the New Year. And in news of my other long-time band, Altan, we have a long U.S. tour coming up in October — October 19-November 20, with special guest Clare Friel — wow! AND I continue my cherished teaching at the Center for Irish Music in Saint Paul. See you here or there…
