Cúpla focal ó Dháithí!
Welcome to my website! It turns out — incredibly — that December 2021 was the 50th anniversary of the release of the Skara Brae album (featuring myself, the late Mícheál Ó Domhnaill and his sisters Maighread and Tríona)! Astonishing! Maighread, Tríona, and I, and also Jim McCloskey (a great old friend who played bass with us after the album was made) have done some very enjoyable interviews about this. The album has never been out of print, and Gael Linn plan to release a new vinyl edition at Easter this year. Apart from that, I have a busy enough time ahead, in spite of the pandemic. In July, I’ll be teaching at both Celtic Week and Traditional Song Week at the Swannanoa Gathering in North Carolina — and in October/November we’ll be having another go at doing the re-scheduled Altan tour. I continue to teach lessons for the Center for Irish Music in Saint Paul — some in person and some on zoom — I’m so grateful for the stimulation and companionship provided by my “work” there in these strange times!
