Welcome to my website! We are entering the later stage of the year in Minnesota with beautiful autumn weather and lots of golden leaves. I wonder will we have more snow this winter than last year — I hope so! The main event for me in the last couple of months was teaching and playing at the O’Flaherty Irish Music Retreat. I’ve been there twice before and it’s a really classy affair with a great roster of instructors including this time Liz Doherty, Gerry O’Connor, John Coyne, Danielle Enblom and Billy and Sean McComiskey. I had a class of about twenty guitarists and had a great time with them. On the Minnesota front I just completed another semester of “Irish Poetry in Translation” at the Center for Irish Music — always a treat for me — and am just starting a course teaching fingerstyle guitar pieces — variety is the spice of life! I’ll end with a quote that I just saw in Ireland from “The Tale of Peter Rabbit” — now run along and don’t get into mischief!
